ACC women’s soccer falls to St. Clair
ALPENA — The Alpena Community College women’s soccer team hosted St. Clair Community College on Saturday in Alpena, falling by a score of 8-0.
St. Clair led 3-0 at halftime and added five goals in the second half to secure the win. The Lumberjacks worked hard on defense throughout the match but were unable to contain St. Clair’s offense for the full 90 minutes.
ACC Head Coach Glenn Campbell noted several individual performances following the game. Goalkeeper Emara Clarke, who is new to the position, handled a heavy workload in net. Anna Herbolsheimer contributed on both offense and defense, while Kaylie Corcoran advanced the ball from her spot at left defense. Reese Dora played as the team’s sweeper, helping anchor the back line.
The match also featured a number of fouls, with St. Clair receiving three yellow cards and Alpena one.
Next up, ACC will travel to Owens Community College for a 1 p.m. match on Wednesday.
