ROGERS CITY — Golfer Mike Moran is at it again, with a second hole-in-one this summer at Rogers City Country Club.
After getting his first hole-in-one on July 8 on hole #11 with a 116-yard-drive, he told friend Ron Roznowski it was his first but won’t be his last, and he has proven himself right.
He achieved his second-ever hole-in-one on Aug. 12, again at Rogers City Country Club, with a 120-yard drive on hole #18.
Moran golfs regularly with Roznowski and a group of about 12 men who call themselves the BCC League, which stands for “blind, crippled, crazy.” The group has been golfing together for roughly 10 years, having fun and not taking themselves too seriously out on the links.
After Moran’s first feat, Roznowski cheekily posted a congratulary photo with the note: “I thought he had a better chance of making the obituary page than the front of the sports page, however, I saw it, so congratulations to Mike.”
Roznowski later added, in a conversation with The News, “Now I have to eat my words.”
At any rate, the men enjoy themselves golfing and giving each other a bit of a hard time, all in good fun.
