For a little over three years, we have all watched four of our school board members face repeated and relentless criticism and unwarranted attacks from local liberal parties in Alpena. The ringleaders are interchangeable organizations called “Build a Better Board” and the “Alpena Democratic Party”. Why this behavior by these groups? Because the 4 four claim to be conservative and Christian. Look at these groups and see who is involved and who they support.
What concerns me most is the issues the political left is pushing on students/parents/APS. Their stances are: Are parents entitled to know what is happening to their kids during school hours? (They say no, we say yes). Should boys be in girls’ sports/bathrooms/shower rooms? (They say yes , and we say no). Should it matter which sex uses which bathroom? (They say no and we say yes). Should we accept ever-changing pronouns? (They say yes, we say no). These issues do not belong in institutions that should be concentrating on learning and basics. What matters most are test scores, literacy, and preparing our students for the real world.
I will not be supporting the left’s picks because I do not support their “agenda”. I will be supporting the only choices…Klein, MacArthur, Thomas, and Bruning.
