Monday's school board meeting once again put the Democrat circus on full display.
The attacks against Trustee Dziesinski and her professional career continued. During last week's workshop, she read a heartfelt letter submitted to the board by a woman's grandson. The letter was submitted to a public body and included the woman's name and references to medical issues. Before reading it publicly, Trustee Dziesinski asked the grandson for permission, which she did not even have to do.
There was no wrongdoing--just because you are in the medical field doesn't mean you can never talk about health care issues. Permission was obtained before the letter was read, and the information was part of a public document. Yet calls were made for Trustee Dziesinski to attend counseling and potentially face censure.
At that same meeting, concerns were raised over allegations that Trustee Fritz took photographs of children from the district's Facebook page and reposted them on her campaign social media account. Whether FERPA applies depends on the specific circumstances; federal guidance says student photos can be education records when they are directly related to a student and maintained by an educational agency or institution. The concern raised was whether the photos were being used for third-party or campaign purposes.
The difference between these two situations highlights what appears to be a political double standard--a very aggressive clown show grasping at straws and targeting conservative members while giving others a pass.
This November, I will be supporting Vincent Thomas, AJ MacArthur, Lindsey Klein, and Robert Bruning (VALR).
After two years of watching this circus, I believe it's time to send a clear message that we will NOT put up with bullying of our conservative board members.
