The silence to condemn destruction of our country is inexcusable

Memorial Day is a day to reflect on the many who have served, suffered, and given the ultimate sacrifice. It clarifies the disrespect, lawlessness, and complete cruelty being visited on the American people by our current President, Mr. Bonespurs. A hundred-million-dollar parade for himself while he shutters V.A. offices. He called our service people suckers and losers. Could not honor the fallen because he would rather golf or afraid to get his hair wet. Did not end wars on day one. Did not bring down costs on day one. Everything is more expensive. Maybe no dolls for Christmas. Can only have five pencils. Thousands of children are starving and dying because of him. Medicare and Medicaid gutted. How many must die before there is accountability? This Fascist has crafted a bill which wil do the following; He can delay or cancel elections-legally, can ignore the Supreme Court rulings for a year or more, can fire government workers for political disloyalty, judges cannot enforce their orders, protests can be tracked and criminalized, LGBTQ+ rights, education, healthcard, and Media-gutted, VPN tracked, voting suppressed, and speech flagged, research and testing eliminated putting Americans and their children at risk of death. This Bill does not break the law. It rewrites the law so Trump never has to break it again.

Authoritarianism has come to America wrapped in 1100 pages of Cancer to Freedom and Democracy. For too long, the Alpena Enquirer has remained silent or relied on false equivalency for candidates and policies. They have abandoned their Code of Ethics. Their silence to condemn the destruction of our country is inexcusable. Silence for the BIG Beautiful Bill? If so, the only used for their publication is for carpeting a birdcage or emergency use in an outhouse.
