Vote for Snow, Fisher in school board election

It goes without saying that the Nov. 5 school board election is extremely important.

We should be looking for candidates who are dedicated to the public school system here in Alpena.

Gordon Snow has proven his commitment to the youth of Alpena many times over. You will not only find him attending school board meetings, but also at concerts, pep rallies, assemblies, and any activities involving students.

He has been a teacher, a principal, and has hosted many foreign exchange students. He cares about and wants the best for ALL of the students of Alpena Public Schools.

Renee Fisher was a favorite teacher of my grandson. She kept parents informed and engaged in the learning process. She genuinely cares about each and every student in the Alpena Public Schools system.

I encourage you to vote for Gordon Snow and write in Renee Fisher. You will be voting for the future of our public school system. Our kids deserve the best.

Three of the candidates are supported by Northeast Michigan League of Conservative Education and it concerns me when a small group wants to impose what they call “Christian Conservative” values on APS. What exactly are those values? How do they differ from Christian values or community values?

It concerns me that we are drawing our school system into the divisive issues that are tearing our nation apart. We are all in this together as parents, teachers, community and school board. We all need to do our part so that all our children will get the best education possible.

H. ROBERT CASE,

Alpena
