I am writing in response to an article in The Alpena News entitled, “Tired of not seeing the truth.” I will try to be as respectful as possible. The author expressed sadness, disgust, frustration, and anger concerning having watched the presidential debate. She gave a false equivalency between the candidates. One who had lied over 35,000 times during his term in office as documented by the Washington Post (it may have been more but maybe they got tired of counting). Then we have the debate, where almost every sentence he uttered was false. Contrast that to a candidate who not only debunked some of her opponent’s lies but laid out a positive message for all Americans moving forward. Maybe if the author did not see the truth or hear the positive message, she wasn’t really looking for or listening for truth or positivity.
