Disappointed that the DNR killed Roger the elk
I was never so disappointed in learning our Michigan Department of Natural Resources killed the elk roaming around Rogers City.
They could have waited a week or two and it probably would have left on its own, like it did last year.
Go on the internet and you can find numerous incidents of elk visiting neighborhoods near our national parks. Some bull elk have reached legendary status. We are talking about one elk who gave great joy and excitement to numerous people who viewed “ROGER.”
A unique situation which will never be visited again.
I guess we can all sleep better now that the DNR has come to our rescue. We no longer have to be worried about being run down by an elk.
What a travesty.
I think I would rather have Roger around and take my chances.
