We are just over a month away from Election Day.

Many are talking about the candidates for president and for Congress, but don’t forget about the individuals running in local elections.

These are individuals who know our community best. They live here, work here, and they understand the needs of the area. When you vote this election, keep in mind that the list of names on the ballot for county commissioner and Alpena Public Schools board member is not the complete list of everyone running for those positions.

There are fantastic write-in candidates that I encourage everyone to learn about: Stephanie Woytaszek (District 1 county commissioner), Brian Perry (District 4 county commissioner), Carol Bobolts (District 5 county commissioner), and Renee Fisher (Alpena school board).
