Congratulations to the staff of The Alpena News on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Northeast Michigan’s best daily newspaper. The News has covered the counties of the Sunrise Side with accuracy and class for generations of readers, making it the soul of the area. The News sets high goals for coverage to ensure readers get the true story on issues of importance to the citizens.

In the age of social media providing fast but not always accurate reporting, The Alpena News has remained true to its calling by keeping the standards high, as a newspaper should, the same as we do for the residents of Presque Isle County at our weekly newspaper.

We are pleased to offer my friend, Justin Hinkley, publisher, and the fine staff our congratulations on a job well done. Keep up the good work.
