Parents, please teach your children bike safety
There is a young man in Alpena who is lucky to be alive tonight. This afternoon I was driving on French Road where the speed limit is 45 mph. Alongside of me there were about three kids riding their bikes. I was keeping my eye on them luckily because all of a sudden the kid who was at the end turned to cross in front of me. I swerved and missed him by just inches. He is lucky that I have good reflexes.
I only saw him from the back so don’t know how old he was but probably about 13. Old enough to know bicycle safety.
Parents please make sure your kids know the rules before you let them ride on the road. If someone doesn’t tell him he won’t make it to the end of summer.
