I am responding to your “Viewpoint” of Saturday, May 13, 2023. Your statement regarding the water-sewer dispute “has cost taxpayers enough money ” is an untrue statement. The users of the water-sewer system are the ones paying for those costs.

While I disagreed with the board regarding the wholesale cost, I did disagree with the costs the city was imposing, because of the inclusion in their rates were for city residents meters, pipes to their streets and other infrastructure which had no benefit to township residents. Water and sewer ratepayers do deserve certainty about what they’ll pay, who they’ll pay, and what that money will do. Which should mean the charges by the city should be reviewed and if they are city residents charges they should be removed. Maybe this would solve the problem.
