On our government and immigration policies

The following is a true event that is ongoing as we write. It is an expose’ of the insanity taking place in our government regarding immigration.

We have family in England, including our granddaughter whose 16-year-old friend Pramiti tragically lost both parents and is now orphaned in England. An aunt and uncle in the US, who have been granted parental rights, were advised by immigration lawyers to apply for a student visa to allow Pramiti to come to the U.S. to live with them. They were stunned when an immigration official at the US consulate in England denied their request. The reason given for the denial is so convoluted it is insane. They stated that when the visa expires, Pramiti would have “no demonstrable ties” in England yet this is the very reason she must leave!

The young girl’s aunt has left her job and family in the US to be with her niece. But, because they have no permanent place to stay, our family, living in a small house outside London, has opened their home to them.

While we hear reports of thousands of people illegally entering our country every day, this young orphan is denied legal entry. This is outrageous! Details of this situation can be viewed at change.org/p/help-bring-stability-to-16-year-old-pramiti/u/31033936 We ask you to sign the petition in hopes that someone of influence, some representative of the US government, will intervene and correct this travesty of justice.
