Read Proposal 2 carefully, then vote no

Vote no on Prop 2. This is a terrible prop that will lead to voter fraud and abuse

Proposal 2 will amend the Michigan Constitution to:

Allow nine days of early voting. What is the extra cost to the taxpayers for all these poll workers? Where are we going to find them? One day of voting and the ability to request an absentee ballot has worked well for decades.

Continue to allow registered voters without a state ID to sign an affidavit attesting to their identity. There are no real experts at every polling place to check these signatures. This current practice should be changed to require every person to have a valid picture ID to vote. You need one to board a plane, check into a hotel, rent a car, buy liquor or beer at more and more stores every week, see a doctor or a dentist, cash a check and the list goes on and on.

A valid state picture ID should be proved free to anyone who does not have one at the same time they register to vote. It is not hard to take a picture, print a card, and hand it to a person when registering to vote.

Allow voters to register once for absentee ballots for all future elections. No, bad idea. People move, people leave the state and people die. With this change, ballots will keep on coming to the address of these people who are no longer there. It is not hard to request an absentee ballot each election.

The Democratic Party is for sending out non-requested ballots to everyone and opposed to requiring picture IDs for voters. Ask yourself why.

Illegal votes cancel legal votes.

Read Prop. 2 carefully, then vote no.
