Alpena is blessed with an amazing school system. Our teachers and school staff work tirelessly. The administration is very dedicated. We should be very proud and support them whenever possible.

All of the staff, work at the direction and guidance of the elected school board. This board is extremely important to the health and well-being of our school system. Honestly, I have never closely watched the school board election. I just voted for the people I knew or were familiar with.

This time it’s different. I am very concerned at an effort to drag politics into our schools. I see four people all running together. Four names on the same signs. Four names on the radio ads sponsored by a political party. This should be of great concern to all parents and residents in the school district. Nothing wrong with differences of opinion; that’s healthy, but let’s not let politics take over our school system.
