This November we have a decision to make that is not based on our political preference, age, gender, or race. This decision will be based on the people of Michigan’s integrity and morals. Proposal 3 is being disguised as “women’s reproductive rights”.

Proposal 3 would change the Michigan constitution to allow for murder of a baby up to the moment of birth. It would protect late-term/partial birth abortions and dismemberment (tearing apart arms, legs, and cracking skulls) of full-term babies. It would also allow minors to obtain abortions, sterilization, puberty blockers, and sex change surgery without parental knowledge and consent. This would be the most extreme abortion policy of any state in the country.

We all have our opinions/religious beliefs of when life begins, but as mothers we all remember that first moment you are able to meet and hold your child. If this proposal passes the Michigan constitution would allow for dismemberment and death of a child minutes prior to that moment. Also as mothers, we have seen over the last few years parental rights slipping away. To know a minor is able to make life altering decisions without our consent is wrong. Parents need to be involved in these detrimental decisions.

We need to demand that Michigan congress makes common sense abortion laws. This proposal goes too far even for the pro-choice individuals. Vote NO on Proposal 3.
