Voters, please vote Yes to renew the Alpena County Veterans Millage on Aug. 2. This is a renewal of a very important millage that is only asking for 0.21 mills which costs the owner of a $100,000 house about $10.50 a year. The Veterans Millage renewal will ensure Alpena County Veterans continue receiving the assistance they need from our two outstanding Veterans Services Officers, Dan Perge and Bill Stypick. The Alpena County Veterans Affairs Office provides assistance and support for over 200 Veterans and their families every month. According to the Federal VA in 2021 over $25 million in VA funds were expended for Veterans in Alpena County to include over $11.3 million in compensation and pensions. Alpena County has over 2,364 Veterans and with your help Alpena County can continue to provide assistance to all of our Veterans and their families.
