Mess left behind after march isn’t a good look

It’s all so predictable, whenever one of these NGO marches comes to a town you can count on cleaning up behind them.

Sunday morning after the march for abortion, I took pictures of mass printed trash left on the ground, had to walk around feces on the river trail in town, had to walk around a “marcher” sleeping along the trail and various other people just hanging around who didn’t smile and are not very friendly.

If we are going to turn our town over to a mob then it’s time somebody sets ground rules. For example, when people come to town with matching T-shirts and mass printed materials, they are responsible for cleaning it up and are not leaving it for those of us who like to walk around our fair town every day. And by the way, your tax dollars pay for those matching shirts, the flyers that turn into trash the next day and you pay for these marchers to go from town to town. At five dollars a gallon for gasoline, most of these people obviously cannot afford to attend these marches so, who’s paying for it?

Another big step would be using a public toilet instead of on the walking trail. That might be OK in San Francisco, but this is Alpena.

It should be a privilege for these outfits to come into a nice small town like this and shake it up for an entire day but instead they come here and run roughshod, then leave everything behind they don’t want.

This is not the first time and it won’t be the last but it’s certainly not a good look for such a nice small town.

CHRIS MOSES,

Alpena
