We need to set a good example for our kids

In response to your front page big news on May 27, “Big for the downtown.”

This might be a great thing for those who drink alcoholic beverages, but what kind of message is this to our youth?

It makes me want to not go downtown to shop at all. I definitely wouldn’t want to take my grandchildren to a park where everyone is sitting around drinking alcohol.

It’s bad enough that people are addicted to strong drink. It would be nice if they would keep it inside where we don’t have to smell it or put up with their bad behavior. With alcohol being the number one drug problem in our nation, with many getting killed from drunk driving and so many homes broken up because of alcohol. We need to discourage folks from drinking and start setting an example in front of our children.

We don’t need alcohol to have a good time.
