On mass shootings, an open letter to Congress

Most of us are saying, “Do something.” Congress seems gridlocked. Why? On Sept. 11, 2001 outside terrorists attacked our country. On Sept. 19, 2001, the TSA was formed by Congress. Eight days! Billions of dollars and many US and foreign lives later, external terrorists have been somewhat eliminated. And the TSA is still in place. Now we have domestic terrorists. To start with, how about a PSSA: Public School Security Administration? Expedite and provide the same security and protection to our public school children and teachers as we do to airline passengers since this is a large proportion of mass shootings in this country. At the same time, enact gun laws to prevent easy access to high capacity firearms. To own a machine gun is a very difficult and expensive process. What is the difference to our safety between machine guns and large capacity semi automatic firearms? The clock is ticking.
