Learning kindness and enjoying happiness

Sunset on the colorful trees, oh my. We are more than a little lucky to live here. I go to bed so early I seldom see the display in the night sky. I do see the sunset and the moon. It is enough to fill my mind and soul for a good night's sleep. Except the fellow I sleep with decides just as I'm going under that he has to go out. So, I must get up, let him out, pray that the skunk is not there, then let hi back in. For this I get my face washed with doggie kisses.

I am writing this facing my refrigerator covered with pictures of beloved family. Children, grandchildren, greats, nieces, and nephews. I wish I could give them all a hug and express how much I love them. Sometimes I can't believe how lucky I am.

Today I went to an apple orchard which had a petting zoo. Just like all the little people there. I was tickled to be able to feed and pet them. I have not met an animal I did not fall in love with yet. Love is a four-legged word. Except of course for chickens and other birds, then two legs also produce love. Sometimes the two-legged human version takes a while to squeeze love out of me.

I do believe evil is not a normal human reaction. It is brought on by "something or someone." I believe no one is born evil. As we must learn kindness, we also have to learn evil. Enough preaching, I hope you all have found love and kindness in your lives today. If not, look out the window and let the trees fill your soul. Peace to all of you.
