What a show!

Tuesday night’s Independence Day fireworks were fantastic, a booming, colorful, mesmerizing display to celebrate the birth of our nation.

Thousands of people clogged Starlite Beach and nearby environs to catch the show, and we put on an amazing show for them to catch.

We wish to express our gratitude to the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce for leading the fundraising effort to make the show a reality.

We thank every business and individual who donated to the show.

We thank the fireworks technicians and other officials who did the actual work of putting on the show.

And we thank the firefighters and other first responders who spent their Fourth of July on standby to make sure the show happened safely.

Alpena knows how to celebrate the Fourth of July.

This year’s fireworks show proved it.
