It makes us smile to see the Outdoors pages of our Saturday editions filled up with photos shared by successful hunters.
The Saturday after opening day, we had so many images we had to run two Outdoors pages and still couldn’t fit all the pictures. Some images spilling over into the most recent Saturday edition, and we had still more to run then.
Most endearing was the number of hunters, young and grown, who got their first-ever buck on opening day.
Hunting is an important tradition Up North, meaning more than just that trophy on the wall or a freezer full of venison.
It means family, camaraderie, respect for and appreciation of the outdoors, and responsibility.
Congratulations to every successful hunter.
And keep those pictures coming!
