Get ready for winter, folks
Northeast Michigan is likely to see a snowy winter, according to long-term forecasts.
And that means now is the time to get ready.
The Washington Post offers some tips, including:
∫ Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, which may be needed with our furnaces running full-bore
∫ Seal up any cracks or gaps in the exterior of your home to avoid heat loss
∫ Check your drainage and clean your gutters to make sure snowmelt doesn’t get clogged up anywhere, where it may freeze and cause serious damage
∫ Make sure your furnace is working properly and that you have a clean filter.
A little prep work on the front end can save a lot of heartache — and money — on the back end.
Get ready, dear readers, it’s coming.
