That roar you heard in the background was from fellow Lions members after hearing Alpena resident Dave Zeller has selected as an inductee into the Lions Clubs of Michigan Hall of Fame.

It is a most fitting honor for a man who is synonymous with Lions and their service to the people of Michigan.

Zeller has served Lions in most every official capacity that he can, both on a local and district level. He is a tireless volunteer who believes that many hands make light work of any need.

“I just volunteer like crazy,” Zeller said with a chuckle in a recent newspaper story about his recognition. “No sitting still.”

His induction is the highest honor that can be bestowed on a Michigan Lion member, with only a few being selected each year.

We congratulate him on this most fitting recognition. Anyone who knows him would agree that if ever there was a man who exemplified hard work, tireless energy and dedication to a cause, it would be him with his Lions activities.
