Junior High’s award worth celebrating

Healthy habits start young.

The way we eat and the way we exercise (or don’t) are often ingrained into us at a very young age. If we start out doing the wrong things, it can be harder for us to change our patterns later in life to get or stay healthy.

That’s why it’s so awesome to see schools doing their part to start kids off on the right path.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services recently honored several schools across the state for programs and policies that encourage healthy behavior among students.

Gold, silver, and bronze awards were given.

Thunder Bay Junior High School received a silver award.

Congratulations to the staff and students for all the work they put into keeping our kids healthy.

It may seem like a little thing, but it can have lifelong benefits for our kids.

Well done, and much-deserved.
