Go get ‘em, history-making Hillman

The Hillman High School football team heads to Pickford on Friday as history-makers.

Last Friday, the Tigers became regional champions for the first time in the program’s history, defeating Cedarville in a 48-44 thriller on the frozen field at Hillman High.

The regional title game also set the program record for wins in a season.

Now, Hillman takes on Pickford for the Division 2 eight-player state semifinal on Friday.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” Hillman coach Cody Allen said. “I couldn’t be prouder of the kids, my coaching staff, this program and everyone who has been a part of this program who has laid the foundation for us. It was just an outstanding team effort all around.”

Here, here.

We know they’ll face a stiff challenge on Friday, and we wish the team well.

But, no matter what happens, we are proud of this year’s Tigers, and hope they are proud of themselves and know their community supports them.

Now, go get ’em, Tigers!
