Come on out to Senior Expo!

Readers won’t want to miss The Alpena News’ Senior Expo Sept. 18 at the APlex.

From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. that day, residents can learn more on a variety of subjects that are particularly geared toward some of our community’s retired population.

Of course, one only is as old as he or she feels, so residents of all ages are welcome that day.

Over 20 vendors will participate this year, and each one brings something of particular interest to residents at their booth.

In addition to flu shot availability and information on senior living opportunities, guests also can get the latest update on construction of the Alpena County Jail and how to never stop learning thanks to a variety of class offerings from the Association of Lifelong Learners.

Seven speakers will share a wealth of information to the group throughout the day, including expo favorite Judy McFalda, who always has thoughts on estate planning either in her presentation or at her booth that day.

Several years ago, Alpena was recognized as one of the top retirement destinations in the Midwest.

As evidenced by the variety of offerings and information that will be available to expo participants this coming week, it is easy to understand why.

Mark your calendar and circle from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. We hope to see you there.
