Morgan, Moore two peas in an extremist pod
It’s a curious thing to see a famous Hollywood documentary producer obsess over a single House race.
But if you look closely at filmmaker Michael Moore’s support for the Democratic nominee from Michigan’s 1st Congressional District, Matt Morgan, it makes much more sense. The Hollywood director and the local politician, allies in the 2018 midterm elections, share the same extremist liberal ideology.
For instance, like Moore, Morgan supports government-funded healthcare for all, opposes allowing teachers to protect themselves and their students, and even supports gun confiscation. On top of all that, Morgan actually opposes the bipartisan Space Force.
Morgan’s support for the Democrat “resistance” to President Donald Trump certainly caught the eye of Michael Moore, who’s been gushing about Morgan ever since.
“He is a solid progressive Democrat who is for single-payer universal health care, [and] believes in strong controls on banks and Wall Street,” Moore wrote in a fawning Facebook post last December.
The far-left filmmaker behind the anti-American “documentary” about 9/11 also noted that “the most important (and bravest) thing I’ve heard Matt say was when he told a packed house in Traverse City last month that ‘every voter must understand this isn’t just your typical Congressional election in 2018. Make no mistake about it — you are electing the jury for the impeachment trial of Donald J. Trump.’ Wow. Yes! Yes we are.”
Moore even went so far as to call President Trump’s supporters “terrorists.”
It’s clear that the Morgan-Moore bromance is ready and raring to take out President Trump and bring back the liberal policies of the Obama years if Moore wins his race and the Democrats take the majority in the House on Nov. 6.
But in this midterm election, there is another option — incumbent Republican Jack Bergman, who actually likes it when the economy is allowed to grow.
Congressman Bergman voted for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act last year, which helped bring Michigan’s unemployment rate down to an 18-year low and has enabled dozens of businesses to hire more workers, increase wages, and award bonuses.
According to Michigan’s Bridge Magazine, “Michigan’s economy has bounced all the way back. And then some. After years of bad news, Michigan’s gross domestic product is finally above pre-Great Recession levels. Jobs are plentiful, and unemployment remains at lows not seen since the beginning of 2000.”
Since President Trump took office, Michigan has seen its GDP soar and its unemployment rate drop, and Jack Bergman deserves some of the credit.
Congressman Bergman has voted with President Trump over 95 percent of the time and supports the agenda that puts American jobs, manufacturing, and agriculture first.
Just recently, Bergman voted in favor of “Tax Cuts 2.0,” which makes permanent many of the policies that have created thousands of new jobs and brought Michigan’s economy back into the green.
The candidates running to represent Michigan’s 1st Congressional District offer voters a crystal-clear choice.
One supports a booming economy and never-before-seen business optimism, while the other cozies up to Hollywood hustlers like Michael Moore.
While the Morgan-Moore bromance may seem curious at first, it poses a warning for voters upon further inspection: Beware liberal extremists who want to impeach our president and derail our economic growth, as well as their Hollywood benefactors.
