Arrest highlights growing drug problem locally

There is dumb.

And then there is dumber.

How else can you explain the arrest this week of a 45-year-old Lachine resident by members of the Huron Undercover Narcotics Team for manufacturing methamphetamine? The arrest was bad enough, but the resident was out on bond and awaiting trial on the same charge for an unrelated incident.

When you read stories like this it reinforces the growing problem of drug abuse across the region and the extent to which people will go to sell, manufacture, or purchase the drugs.

And in the case of this person, who now faces two charges from different incidents, it shows an inherent lack of concern stemming from the first charge. It appears as if the man thought he was oblivious from the charge and its possible consequences if found guilty.

Obviously the man learned nothing from the first arrest.

Hopefully the second will be more enlightening.
