Hats off to Mrs. Glee’s and its employees

Today healthy food choices are much more than a fad, they are a lifestyle for many residents.

Many of us have learned that one of those choices in our diets should be gluten-free products.

A local company that was among the first in the country to concentrate on that fact was Mrs. Glee’s Gluten-Free Foods out of Hillman, and Wednesday it was honored as the “Business of the Year” at the Hillman Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet.

Since its inception in 2010, the business has expanded and been successful. Originally it started with three employees but today that number is 30. In addition, sales keep increasing – thus resulting in the company running two shifts at its plant.

Accepting the award on behalf of the company and its employees was Jim LeCureux, the operating manager at Mrs. Glee’s.

“The business is continuing to grow and we’re very pleased to be in Hillman. The response from people in the area has been wonderful, and the employees have really taken the business to heart.”

We congratulate the company and its employees. Their success is encouraging for all of us to see how a niche-based business can thrive and prosper.
