I was shocked watching the NBC nightly News last night as they announced that the mighty U.S. Congress has finally passed the Sunshine Protection Act which now goes to the U.S. Senate. If these people were in office centuries ago the pyramids might just be completed! Now all they have to do this century is pass the SS and the Safe act.

The final clock change could occur in March 2027. From there there would be no longer a “fall back” in November 2027

The bill allows states to opt-out Clause. The way I see it, it looks like it’s back to square one! The problem is this was tried before by the Michigan State Legislature in winter only to quickly switch back because of the dark extended morning hours for school time. Example with EST around December 21 is supposed to be the shortest daylight of the year where the Sun does not come up until around 8:12 a.m. EST and set at 4:55 p.m. EST.

This means if DST is law then the sun will not show until almost an hour later at 9:12 a.m. EDT. This will be very dangerous for the school children. Keep in mind that I am talking sunrise and sunset in good weather! I came here in 1970 where we remained on EST. Something has got to be done either with the school schedules or whatever it takes because it’s going to be very dangerous dark mornings with bad weather.

An American native had the government pegged long ago when he said that “The government will tell the people to cut one foot off a blanket at one end, and sew it on the other end, then tell the people that you have a longer blanket.”
