It is difficult to write about the atrocities being committed in our country, but it’s necessary. Violence thrives in silence.

Ice is not concerned with ridding our country of criminals, they are concerned with eliminating diversity.

Their mission statement is “Protect America through criminal investigations and enforcing immigration laws to preserve national security and public safety.”

Preserving public safety doesn’t involve tearing apart families or murdering citizens who were peacefully protesting. Their practices are violent and discriminatory. They have detained Native Americans on the basis of their skin color. They detained Liam Conejo Ramos, a 5-year old who legally came to America. They murdered Renee Good in cold blood. They murdered Alex Pretti after un-arming and surrounding him while he was shielding a woman who had been pepper sprayed. And all that was this month. Children are not bait, exercising freedom of speech is not a reason to be shot-regardless of the message, and immigrants are not dangerous.

The president is acting with hate, and greed. Allowing this dangerous ignorance to prevail will only make things worse for the lives of people here. Someone willing to treat one group with such malice will not hesitate to do the same to others. If you have the privilege of feeling unaffected by his current actions then it is your duty to look out for those who are.

No one’s life is more important because of what they believe, the color of their skin or where they are from. If you were outraged by the shooting of Charlie Kirk but not by the shooting of Renee Good that makes you a hypocrite.

What is happening in our country is absolutely disgusting and I refuse to be silent. No one deserves to be treated like this.

ICE is destroying our country, not immigrants.
