Potty Talk

At the August Alpena Public School board meeting, during public comment, one of the speakers shared surprising information about the proposed bathroom policy. She questioned why Monica Dziesinski and Sarah Costain, whose children attend All Saints, are promoting the Fairview bathroom policy and not the All Saints bathroom policy. Dziesinski, in particular, has been the most vocal about the need for the bathroom policy at APS. Why look elsewhere?

This speaker spoke with parents whose children attend All Saints and they were not aware of a bathroom policy. She became suspicious and wondered what if there wasn’t a bathroom policy at All Saints? She continued to investigate and found no policies posted on the All Saints website and no bathroom policy in the 43-page school handbook of policies and procedures.

Costain confirmed in an email (dated March 21, 2025) in response to another speaker, that there isn’t a bathroom policy at All Saints.

Since there isn’t a bathroom policy at All Saints, I would have to question the sincerity of Dziesinski and Costain. Parents will always protect their OWN children. Parents would jump in front of a bus or take a bullet to protect their OWN children. If the belief is that the Fairview bathroom policy is to protect the safety and dignity of students, wouldn’t they want those same protections for their own children?

After all, All Saints is an elementary AND middle school (ages through 14-15).

This makes these two board members, who have their children enrolled at All Saints, look disingenuous and phoney about claims of how necessary it is to change the current APS policy.

I believe they are gaslighting and manipulating to achieve their own agendas. What are they really trying to achieve?
