Paul Michael Ahern of Hartland Township passed away at home on Jan. 17, 2023, at the age of 66. Paul was the beloved husband of Kim and the two had been married for 31 years. He is the cherished father of Anna Maureen (Brad) Brewer and Brien Everett Ahern and adored grandfather of Juniper Ray Brewer. He is the dear brother of Carol (Tim) Richards, Jeanne (Todd) Peters and Dyan (Tom) Cockels. Marie Annette Darling, 82, of Shelbyville, Kentucky traveled to her heavenly home with JC on Jan. 18, 2023 at UofL Health-Jewish hospital. Marie was born on Aug. 29, 1940 in Newberry, Michigan to the late Bernard and Frances (Hadd) Darling. She spent her youth living in Alpena, Michigan. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1958. After high school Marie married and moved to the Detroit area where she raised her four children with her first husband. Lynn Edwin Irwin, 79, of Presque Isle passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, with his wife at his side. Lynn was born March 4, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Lloyd and Mary (Taylor) Irwin. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1961 and worked at Abitibi for 43 years. In 1964 he married Hazel Reed. Lynn enjoyed fishing on Lake Huron and Grand Lake, brown trout fishing, and riding on his pontoon around Grand Lake. Norbert P. Wisniewski, age 85, of Alpena, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 17, 2023. Norbert was born on June 6, 1937 to the late Casimer and Stephanie (Domiencki) Wisniewski in Alpena. Norbert graduated from Catholic Central High School. He served two years in the United States Army and four years in the United States Army Reserve. Nobert was employed at A&P of Alpena for nearly 40 years until his retirement in 1993. Shirley L. Zampich, age 97, of Millersburg, died peacefully at Bay Bluffs in Harbor Springs on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023. The daughter of George and Lorena (Banta) Russell, Shirley was born on Sept. 16, 1925, in Millersburg. After graduating from high school, Shirley went on to get her teaching certificate. She worked as a teacher and teacher’s aide in Posen and at the Vilburn School. On April 15, 1950, she and Alvin Zampich were married at the Millersburg Methodist Church.
