Alison Bloom-Storey "Susie Bloom", 87, of Alpena died peacefully at home Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026.

Susie was born Feb. 21, 1939 in Alpena to the late Curtis and Gladys (Martinson) Bloom. She was among the first graduating class at Alpena Community College. Susie would continue her education by becoming an optician working for several local eye doctors in Alpena. She loved sailing and enjoyed attending the annual Brown Trout Festival every year. Susie was good with her hands as she enjoyed making furniture and was very involved in renovating the cottage on Long Lake. It was at the cottage that she really enjoyed hosting family every summer, creating lasting memories. She also had a love for fast cars which included her super-charged Grand Prix that she drove until it needed to be retired. Susie married her love Dan Storey in 1999 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ where she was a member for 75 years. Her strong character and love will be dearly missed.

Susie is survived by her husband, Dan Storey, and her nephews, Phil and Doug Bloom. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kurt Bloom.

Susie is at McWilliams Funeral Home where family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting will resume on Thursday at the First Congregational Church of Christ from 11 a.m. until the service at noon with Rev. Laura Hoffman officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
