Marion Mae Kelley, 83, stepped into eternity on Oct. 28, 2026. We take comfort in knowing she was welcomed into heaven by Jesus and is now holding hands once again with her husband, Ron.
She was born on July 30, 1943, to Jerry and Frances Korinek in St. Clair Shores, MI and grew up there, surrounded by family and good memories, often traveling to western Michigan on vacation. She spent many years working as an EMT for Hillman Ambulance Service and has helped many families in need.
On Jan. 25, 1986, she was united in marriage to Ronald Kelley. Together, they enjoyed fishing Lake Huron with friends and family on their boat, and spending many winters as snowbirds in Florida. She was lovingly referred to as "Aunt Mimi," "Grandma Mimi" and "White Grandma" by nieces, nephews and grandkids. Together, she and Ron built a wonderful life and shared 21 years of marriage until Ron's passing in 2007.
Marion is survived by her children Russell Stoddard of Hillman, daughters Lisa (Rick) Ferguson of Hillman, Tracy (Randy) VanElsacker of Gulf Breeze, FL (and their father James Stoddard of Hillman), and Kris (Roger) Ebejer, daughter of Ron; and her brother Edward (Linda) Dupart of Sturgis, MI. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Adam (Carla) Kennard, Jordan (Felicia) Kennard, Sean (Melissa) Welch, Christopher (Corin) Welch, John (fiancé Laurn) Welch, Christina (Michael) Creamer, Kelsey (Jason) Fifield, Michaela Ferguson, and Greggory Hubbard; her honorary grandson, Benjamin Granby; and her best friend and partner-in-crime, Robin Smith.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, parents, Jerry and Frances Korinek, daughter Karen Leist, sister Joan Hooper, and grandson, Trevor Hubbard. She missed all of them dearly, and we are glad they are all reunited!
Mom spent her last months in the loving care of Hillman's Haven, and we feel deep gratitude for all that they did to give her dignity at all times, even when she was trying to push through them to escape!
Hospice of Michigan was also a wonderful help, assisting Mom at any hour that they were called.
A visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hillman Methodist Church 111 Maple Street, Hillman and continue Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jon Gougeon officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marion's name to the Elk Country Animal Shelter, where she adopted her beloved Oreo, or Hospice of Michigan.
