Marie Grove, 79, died on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 23, 1946, in Munising, Michigan to the late Donald and Marjorie (Kettering) Carpenter.
She graduated from Alpena Community College, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree and then became a registered nurse.
Marie was a devoted family woman and always made sure that they came first. She loved going to casino’s, especially her trips to Vegas. She loved flowers and taking care of her pineapple plants. When she lived in Florida, she enjoyed spending time outside watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the weather.
Marie is survived by her children, Mary (Tim) Lowe and Steven (Sherrie) Christensen; grandchildren, Danielle, Troy, Colton, Samantha, and Jessica; her sister, Donna; many great-grandchildren, and other extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her former husbands, Thomas Grove and Michael O’Brien; her infant daughter, Melissa; siblings, Duane and Phyllis and her grandsons, Bryce and Steven.
Services will be held privately for the family.
