Faith Delight Black, 94, of Alpena passed away October 15, 2026, at Besser Senior Living Community.
Faith Delight James was born on April 14, 1932, to the late Russel and Madley (Goodrich) James. She married Arlington Black on August 22, 1954. Faith was a teacher for many years. After retiring from teaching, she handled the bookkeeping for their several family businesses. Faith was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church
Surviving are her husband, Arlington of 72 years; four children, Delynn (Randy) Bronson, James (Sandra) Black, Janice (William) Hansen, and Scott (Judy) Black; 10 grandchildren, Doni (Collin) Riffert, Colin (Kayla) Berry, Evan Berry, Lyndon (Ashley) Berry, Jamie Kirschner, Jason (Lindsey) Black, Sadie (Kendrick) Schafer, Eli (Kayla) Hansen, Mike (Courtney) Schiller, and Brian Schiller; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Faith was preceded in death by her son, Edward Russel Black; two brothers, Howard and Stan James.
A special thank you to Judy for the extra care, kindness, and compassion she showed Faith.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
