Willa Jean Lester, age 86, of Long Lake, Michigan, died peacefully on Sept. 22, 2026, surrounded by love.
Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Family meant everything to her, and she had a special way of making those around her feel loved, cared for, and welcome. Her kindness, strength, and steady presence were a comfort to so many, and the memories she created with her family will be treasured forever.
She leaves behind Donna (Burt) Francisco, Bill (Junette) Scheuner, Ben Scheuner, and Teresa Mallette, along with 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her love and memory with them.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hobart Lester; her son, Michael Scheuner; her son-in-law, Scott Mallette; and 15 siblings.
Those who knew Jean will remember not only the love she gave, but also the warmth she brought into everyday moments. She was someone her family could turn to, laugh with, share stories with, and simply enjoy being around. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Although her family's hearts are heavy, they are grateful for the many years, memories, and moments they were blessed to share with her. Her love will remain a part of them always. May she rest peacefully, forever loved and forever remembered.
Per her wishes cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
