Tom Holsworth, 75, of Hubbard Lake, walked on September 1, 2026. A gathering to celebrate Tom's life and music is being planned for June 2027 at a location to be determined following a service at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Ossineke, Michigan.
A graduate of Alcona High School, Tom had a gift for both lyrics and tunes. He liked to call himself an "Indian Mountain Man" and became something of a local legend for his original folk ballads and country songs. As an independent stonemason, he often worked with his father, uncles and cousins in the family trade. Their beautiful brick and stonework can be found throughout Alcona and Alpena counties.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Ann Holsworth, sister Barbara, brother Jack, and niece Tanya Dunn. He will be sorely missed by his surviving sister Linda Cree, niece Aimee Cree Dunn, and grand-nephew Forest Cree, as well as many cousins, other
relatives, and friends.
Donations to a local food pantry or Humane Society in his memory are encouraged.
