Rudolph John Adamczyk, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026.
Rudolph John Adamczyk was born in Detroit on January 17, 1946, to the late John and Clara (Szubica) Adamczyk. In 1973, he married Ilene Hanlon. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2012.
Rudy served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his time in Vietnam, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and two Bronze Stars. Following his active duty, he was a part of the Naval Reserve for several years. Rudy returned to the Detroit area and worked as a rigger for the Ford Motor Company. During this time, he purchased "Rudy's Way" in Lachine. After his retirement from Ford, he and his wife Ilene moved permanently to Lachine.
Rudy was a proud owner of Rudy's Guns and shared his passion for guns with many people who visited him. Rudy was an avid outdoorsman who loved his Brittany Spaniels and Beagles. For many years he visited Peele Island for an annual pheasant hunt with his dogs by his side. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the National Turkey Federation. Also, an avid deer and turkey hunter, Rudy never missed the opportunity to be in the woods when the season was in.
Per his wishes Rudy has chosen not to have a funeral service. He will be laid to rest at Rudy's Way which was his beloved home for over 50 years. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. A special thank you to the care team at Medilodge of Hillman for his extended care.
