Marietta Jean Zampich, 68, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Alpena.
Marietta was born in Rogers City to Frank and Patricia (Romel) Momrik on February 26, 1958. On September 22, 1979, she married the love of her life, Dale Zampich. They shared nearly 47 years of marriage, and a life filled with family, faith, love, and countless cherished memories.
Her greatest joys were her son, Bradley, daughter-in-law, Dani, and beloved granddaughter, Sadie Jean. Being Sadie's grandmother brought Marietta immeasurable happiness, and she treasured every moment they shared.
A self-proclaimed "craftaholic," Marietta was especially known for her thoughtfully handmade greeting cards and gifts, and she was also a gifted seamstress. She loved creating things for others and delighted in putting her time, creativity, and heart into everything she made. She also enjoyed playing cards and games and spending time at the Bay Athletic Club.
Marietta had a deep love for the Lord and was a devoted member of All Saints Parish. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found joy in serving others and being involved in her community. She was also an active member of the VFW Posen Post 7804 Auxiliary.
Marietta was not only a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, but also a wonderful sister, aunt, and friend. She had a way of making everyone feel loved and welcomed, and she was known for giving the warmest, biggest hugs. Her kindness, generosity, and love for others touched so many lives.
Marietta was preceded in death by her father, Frank Momrik; her brother, Frank Jr.; her father-in-law, Alvin Zampich; her mother-in-law, Shirley Zampich; her sister-in-law, Claire Momrik; and her brother-in-law, Jeff Wilk.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Dale; her son, Brad, and daughter-in-law, Dani; her cherished granddaughter, Sadie Jean; her grandson on the way; her mother, Patricia Momrik; her siblings, Glen, Ted (Kathy), Lois (Terry), and Ann (Marvin); brother-in-law, Gary (Carolyn); sisters-in-law, Pam (Tim) and Vicki (Mike); along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Marietta will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her greatest legacy will be the love she gave so freely--to her husband, her family, and everyone who was fortunate enough to receive one of her hugs.
