Donna Davis, born March 30, 1965, in Alpena, died at her home in Posen on Sept 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Donna was the beloved mother of James Davis, Andrew Filipiak (Cara Standen), Joshau Davis, Karley LeSage, and Breanna Davis. She also embraced Jason Carr, Allan Straley (Betsy), and Emily Timmreck as bonus children, loving them as her own. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great pride and happiness. Donna is also survived by her mother, Lura Villeneuve; her sisters, Vicki Gauthier, Carmen Villeneuve, and Roxanne Gougeon; and several nieces and nephews who will carry her memory with them always.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Villeneuve; her stepmother, Shirley Villeneuve; her daughter, Melanie Carr; and her brother, Steven Villeneuve.
Donna earned a degree in business management, a reflection of her determination and commitment to building a meaningful life. For more than 20 years, she worked as a bartender, where she became known by many as the best. Her hardworking nature, friendly personality, and natural ability to connect with others made her a familiar and cherished presence in the community. Later in life, Donna became a woman's advocate, using her voice and compassion to support others and stand up for those in need. She also gave her time and heart to the Hope Shore Alliance, where she found purpose in helping others and serving her community.
Outside of her work and service, Donna enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life special. She loved going to the casino, crafting, and camping. She treasured every moment spent with her family. Whether she was sharing time with loved ones, lending a helping hand, or enjoying a quiet moment doing something she loved. Her life reflected her caring nature and her desire to make life better for those around her.
Donna Davis will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love. Her family and friends will hold close the memories of her laughter, her strength, her compassion, and the example she set by living a life devoted to others.
A celebration of life will be held at McRae Park on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, with friends and family gathering from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a service being held at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the family to offset funeral cost. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements.
