November 29, 1933 - May 10, 2026

Frederick (Fritz) Louis Daleski, Sr., 92, of Alpena, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, May 10, at MyMichigan Medical Center-Alpena, surrounded by his loving family, after renal failure.

Fred was born on November 29, 1933, in Alpena to the late Edward and Thelma (Fields) Daleski. On August 6, 1955, he married Phyllis Pelleran. Fred worked at LaFarge for many years, retiring at age 57.

Fred was an avid golfer, golfing in retirement, almost every day. He and Phyllis spent many of those retirement winters in Las Vegas, NV and then Singer Island, FL, where they could get away from the cold, with an added bonus of him being afforded the opportunity to golf all-year-round. Over the years, he was a member of The River's Edge, Alpena Golf Course, and Lost Lake Woods Club, where he and Phyllis built a summer home.

Fred was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, where for many years he worked on Tuesday night, bingo.

Fred enjoyed being involved in other sports, over the years, too. He played basketball and umpired softball for many years. He also enjoyed playing cards, whether it was spitzer or pinochle. He and Phyllis enjoyed playing cards with friends each week at the Senior Center. He was also a member of local pool leagues, over the years. He excelled at all! He treasured spending time with family, including all of the family dogs. Always having treats at-the-ready in the pantry when they would come to visit.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; seven children, Karen (Tim) Hansen, Michael Daleski, Mark (Jackie) Daleski, Sharon (Ben Van Kuren) Socia, Fred Daleski, Jr., Craig Daleski, and Angela (Tony) VanDongen; five grandchildren, Sarah (Edward) Mora, Justin (Siarra) Daleski, Andrew Daleski, Alyssa (Justin) Trudgen, and Jake VanDongen; five great grandchildren, Penelope Mora, Mila Mora, Sophia Mora, Paige Daleski, and Tanner Trudgen; one brother, Edward (Patricia) Daleski, Jr.; one sister, Kathleen Mischley, sisters-in-law; Alice Daleski and Darlene Daleski; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Penny) Pelleran, and David (Lori) Pelleran; numerous nieces and nephews who warmly referred to him as "Uncle Friendly Fred."

Inurnment: Holy Cross Cemetery

The family requests that memorials in Fred's name be made to All Saints of Alpena.

'God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be, so he wrapped his arms around you, and

whispered, "come to me." You didn't deserve what you went through, so he gave you a rest. God's

garden must be beautiful, for he only takes the best. And when I saw you sleeping, so peaceful and

free from pain, I could not wish you back, to suffer that again." – Author Unknown
