Clair Reuben Klein, 89, of Hubbard Lake died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
Clair was born in Hillman on June 17, 1937, to the late Reuben and Clara (Laurette) Klein. On June 28, 1958, he married Roselind J. Timm. She preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2013. Clair sailed on the S.T. Crapo, J.B. Ford and John W. Boardman, throughout the Great Lakes region. He later was the custodian at Wilson Elementary School for nearly 30 years retiring in 2001, and along with his wife Roselind worked at the Hardwoods near Hubbard Lake. He has been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church - Hubbard Lake, enjoyed hunting, fishing, family camping and riding his Honda motorcycle.
Surviving are his six children, Mary (Michael) DeLuca, Kirby (Dayna) Klein, Karen (Fred) Hering, Kenneth Klein, Katherine Klein, Mark (Collyn) Klein; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two siblings, Edna (Ken Griffen) Balog, David (Kim) Klein and sister-in-law, Darlene Klein.
Mr. Klein was preceded in death by four sisters, infant Helen, Marie Allen, Frances Farrier, Delia Laakso, and two brothers, James Klein, and Thomas (Helen) Klein.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, at the Bannan Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church - Hubbard Lake from 10 a.m. until of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Llewellyn officiating.
