Alice Marie Meredith, 83, of Alpena passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Alpena.
Alice Marie Newhouse was born in Detroit on July 20, 1943, to the late William and Ottile (Jacobs) Newhouse. In January of 1961, she married George Meredith. He preceded her in death in March of 2008. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her friends at the Alpena County Library's Book Club.
Surviving are her son, Dennis (Sharon) Meredith; 3 grandchildren, Logan Jensen, Rebecca Meredith, Sarah Meredith; 4 siblings, Tina Straley, Cathy (Ron) Sundeen, Helen Newhous, Harold Newhouse; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by a daughter, Gretchen Jensen; 3 siblings, Danny Newhouse, Billy Jo Newhouse, and Ann Newhouse.
Per Alice's wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
