Sharon Carrie Burnham

Sharon Carrie Burnham, 83, passed away on July 15, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1943, to the late Dave and Makine (Pettit) Tait in Mikado, Michigan. She was a 1960 graduate of Oscoda High School. God’s angels came and carried her to her heavenly home to join them in their heavenly chores to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, where the roses never fade. She was a collector of old songs and hymns and now has joined the Happy Angel Band over in Glory Land. She was a self-taught guitarist and keyboard player having played and sang in many churches and in the old fashioned days in Ossineke, Michigan. She married William Burnham on April 2, 1966 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2011.

She and her husband William owned ten acres of land on Indian Reserve Road, Hubbard Lake, Michigan together they cleared the land and built their own home, garage, barn, out buildings and raised chickens and farm animals and cut their own firewood. Gardening and tilling the ground, they liked to walk through the woods looking for wildflowers and hearing the birds sing. She liked to feed the birds for years and years.

Sharon worked for Advertiser’s Postal Service as a contract carrier for more than fifteen years in the Hubbard Lake, Spruce and Black River areas.

She is survived by her brother, George (Tarri) Tait; several nieces and nephews.

Sharon is preceded in death by her five sisters.

There will be no funeral service, burial will be at Hubbard Lake Cemetery beside her husband William of 45 years, there to await the glorious resurrection and to be with loved ones at the gathering place in the sky. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
