Randy Niemi

Randy was born April 5, 1959 in Cheboygan to the late Marylou (Niemi) McLaren & the late Richard Niemi and was raised in Alpena.

He is survived by three siblings, Terry Niemi of Ironwood, Julie Niemi of Alpena, and Jere McLaren of Alpena.

Randy is also survived by two nephews & one niece, three great nephews & one great niece as well as two uncles.

Randy was a huge sports fan. He liked watching & playing golf, boxing, The Red Wings, Detroit Lions & The Tigers.

Randy’s little League baseball team Alpena Huron Shores won the state championship and were only one game away from going to the little league world series in 1971.

Randy’s father Richard Niemi was a well known musician in Alpena and also owned Ripley Music Shop for many years, which is where Randy bought his first drum kit. He played in various bands in & around Alpena. Music was always a big part of his life.

Randy moved to Florida in his twenties. Later he managed Fletcher Music Company for many years.

Per his wishes Randy was taken for cremation in Fl.

A private memorial is planned.

Randy will forever be missed.
