Terry LaLonde

July 22, 1946 – June 15, 2026

Terry LaLonde, age 79, of Ossineke, died on June 15, 2026 at home with his loving wife at his side.

Terry was born on July 22, 1946, in Alpena, and lived a life marked by hard work, practical skill, and devotion to the people and places he loved.

He was the son of the late Clarence and Gladys (Bryning) LaLonde. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Walton. He is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sam” LaCross, whom he married on May 11, 2001, as well as his daughter, Debbie (Jim) Bristol, his grandson, Tyler, who he was very proud of, his favorite fur baby, Tinker, and many close friends and trucking buddies.

Terry spent many years working as an over the road and local truck driver, a career that suited his dependable nature and strong work ethic. He took pride in doing things the right way and was known as someone who could fix anything. He owned every tool imaginable and had the kind of practical knowledge that made him the person others turned to when something needed repaired, adjusted, or figured out. Handy in every sense of the word, Terry had a gift for solving problems and getting the job done.

Outside of work, Terry enjoyed a vast array of collectibles and took great interest in the things he gathered over the years. He also enjoyed keeping watch over the Ossineke State Forest Campground, a place he cared about and watched over with quiet dedication. Whether he was working with his hands, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying the familiar routines of life, Terry found satisfaction in being useful, steady, and present.

Those who knew Terry will remember his strong presence and his willingness to help. He was a man who valued honesty, hard work, and loyalty, and he leaves behind many memories that will be cherished by those who loved him. His family and friends will remember him not only for what he did, but for who he was, a dependable man with a generous spirit and a deep love for the people and places that mattered most to him.

Terry’s life was one of purpose, perseverance, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Per his wishes Terry has been taken for cremation with no services planned at this time. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
